When Elijah came to Chiromed O’Fallon he was suffering from Chronic Foot and Ankle Pain. The most common causes typically involve a sprain, fracture or a ligament tear. Many times this is from an injury that did not heal properly.
From a chiropractic perspective we are always looking for the root cause of the problem. We took lumbar spine and pelvic x-rays, as well as foot and ankle x-rays. The foot and ankle x-rays came back negative, but we discovered that his pelvis was out of balance from left to right by approximately 1 inch. This pelvic misalignment affects the biomechanics from the lumbo/pelvic region down the leg and eventually affects the ankle and foot. Over the course of time these abnormal mechanics lead to irritation and inflammation of the ankle joints, ultimately causing the ankle pain.
Over the last 2 months Elijah has come to Chiromed for Treatment including spinal and ankle adjustments, therapies, and stretching and strengthening exercises.
